My last post I’m getting back
was un-kept due to pure laziness. This post is regarding what I did all these days…
All of us feel lazy, but I ran a extra mile in the race for laziness. I guess I am regretting it a lot. I am covering almost everything I did in this time period.
- Using Google Reader : Google Reader has always been a favourite feed reader to most of bloggers, but the power of Google Reader showered for the first time on me. For people who never used google reader or who don’t know what it is? It is a powerful RSS (Really Simple Syndicate) Feed reader, It simply an eye appointed to the website you like (website should support RSS feeds). If you are using firefox its even better to use Google Reader. Just look forThe icon says that particular website supports RSS Feeds, so just click and add to your favourite Feed reader, in my case its Google Reader. You can even get feeds to your Inbox if you are using Microsoft Outlook, Outlook express, Yahoo Mail, or other mail clients..but Google Reader makes your reading experience even better. You can even also be updated by Firefox Toolbar Bookmarks, Just click on icon while Google Reader is open, and add it to your Live Bookmarks Toolbar, and you see all what is updated in Google Reader is updated on your firefox toolbar too, is’nt it a great way to keep an eye on the sites you like.
- Making a work place : I work from home, and maintaining 3 computers is always been messy. I decided to shift my favourite desktop to my bed room from previously located drawing room. So Now its Me, My Desktop, laptop, and my Bed. I do feel sleepy looking at my bed but I feel my bedroom like a cabin. I use a wi-fi router, so my house has wireless internet and spending time on terrace early in mornings with my laptop with fresh air. Hoping to work best with my new setup.
- Mail on Phone : If you are a Gmail user, point your phone’s browser to http://googlemail.com/app
. I have forwarded even my personal mail id @santoshp.com with pop3 access to my Gmail, so I read mail on phone most of the time.
- Google Alerts : If you are a Blogger, or a person who wants to keep a eye on the websites, news events in your particular field, Subscribe to Google Alerts. Not only you can subscribe to updated information, but also know what other bloggers, news sites, and groups, have to tell about the topic which interests you. http://www.google.com/alerts.
Set it to update your as it happens, or once a day, or once every hour.
- Watch my visitors going away : Last thing which enabled me to post this post. I am seeing my visitors going away due to my inactivity. I was often inactive to update my blog. All day I did was to read the feeds on Google Reader. This is not just another post, but a confession. I have discussed 4 new ways to spend time while you stay inactive which I found very interesting.
Adding to my laziness, Jane May of Jane May Blogs & Careerramblings.com has guest Blogged “Maximize Your Daily Efficiency” for John Chow dot Com, I feel as if Jane May caught a perfect timing to increase efficiency for guys like me.
What do you do when you get inactive? How do you take out time for Blogging? How punctual are you? … Wish I can interview you highly active bloggers personally!!
