Art of Start

Its an Art to start, and a game to maintain, And do not enter the game to last as a player forever. Play with the determination and confidence to win. Starting a business is like deciding to give birth to a baby, not just to start and throw it off. You need not be above 23 with all those fancy Master in business degrees to start a business which almost drag you to get into the working class like others with a good packaged salary, business is about risk, business is about passion, business is about leadership, and vision.
As said ''Becoming an entrepreneur is nothing but practicing the 'Art of Start' for the right opportunity, and not being afraid of failure!"
Mental Ingredients of Starting an business?
- Drive : One needs to be driven by proper ideas, and know-how(s) to tackle with traffic bottle-necks on the way.
- Passion : The more your passionate more you enjoy, more you feel less stressed. I feel you should reach the extremes of passion towards your start, fully crazy to follow your intuitions towards success. This help a person to boost his confidence at a much higher pace than normal people.
- Persistence : Do not give up when your in a crises, difficulty, or when something negative take place. Remember to keep yourself distressed, party or take a 2-3 day off (only if it’s a startup, once you grow your company will need you when some shit happens). Try till you succeed, there are chances you may not end up.. But remember to try for the next higher thing.. Don’t end up for something smaller.
- Work ethics : Stick to your ethics, working without ethics would blow your working style out of proportion. If your starting from your residence, make sure you stick to your day timings just like any other company. If your work demands to stay awake at night make sure your strict with your timings. Maintain your food habits and timings. As it’s a startup you make have to sacrifice your sleep, but make sure you have 6-7hrs of sleep..Proper sleep will help you to think better.
- Vision : Have a vision what you are up to, what would be your future likely, how is your product/service going to have a final look. Its important to have a vision at least for next 3-5years at least with 5 different plans mentally. There is no success in business without vision, may be you might end up to the next higher thing but that would only happen if you least have a vision.
- Trust : Trust your partners, friends, customers. They play a vital role shaping your business, and networking. May be many of your friends and relatives are back scratching you but suspecting without proof would take you on a bad relation path. Make sure you gives sometime to research out why and what did go wrong. Remember to give him equal rights and weight age even if your profit % differs.
- Employees taking ownership : Make people under you feel as their company, give them freedom for their ideas, and give a try to see what they have to say/show. Google gives 20% time to its employees to think about the company. Google News, and Orkut were the outcome of that 20% time.
- Never be scared : When you decide to start, or initial phase of startup, problems are always beside you. Time, family, friends, day job, studies, failure are such kind which try to put you down most of time. You would get busy more than never, or might have to end up with your day job. Or your friends, and relatives telling you how risky it is do what you are doing, and you would end up no where.. For such kind of situations I insist you to act like a sponge, soak as much as possible and talk only when squeezed. Don’t be scared for failures, enjoy the phase getting up again when you fail who knows you would strike the best deal or idea then. And moreover you get ready to tackle further failures.
- Network, Party, Make friends : The essential ingredient to start is network. Network as much as possible, meet as many people. Do not fear to tell what you about to start, add a line next to your current profession. If you are a student make sure you tell them what your planning to start in next few months, If you’re a 9-5 worker make sure you let every person you meet about your startup. Public relations can go beyond local media. Small people whom you network may refer you to few big clients.
- Watch your spending : Keep a watch what you spend. Food, fuel, phone, travel..etc. That should be from the day-1 you decide to startup. This will not only help you to cut your costs, but also keep you organised.
- Stay Hungry, Stay foolish : Apple Computer's founder Steve Jobs said "Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish". I don’t know what he meant but I understood to stay foolish, know your competitors being a customer. Stay hungry for all kinds of inputs available. Stay hungry to do new things, a small weakness of your competitors can be your USP (Unique Selling
Proposition)
